Description:

Subshrub. Subshrub to 4 cm; stem matte medium purple-grey shading to red branches and light green twigs; leaves brittle, folded upward at mid and lateral veins, lustrous, dark green above, beneath light green with dark red hairs; ovary and calyx light yellow-green with dark red sinus; corolla bud deep satiny slightly-red, the non exposed portion white, flushed with pink without, within flushed slightly pink; filaments red, anthers white; fruit lustrous near-black.
Habitat:

Valley forest; mostly on thin, wet soil over rocks, in open areas.
