Description:
Shrub. Shrub 2 m. leaves inflated vesicular bases alternating in pairs; petals pale salmon as are filaments; calyx tube deep green as is erect peduncle and inflorescence branches; leaves transversely rugose both sides, sulcate-nerved above, elevated nerves below, dark green above, dull green below; fruit becoming dark ultramarine blue-violet.
