Dominican Republic. La Vega. Cordillera Central, ca. 13.7 km S of Constanza on rd. between Constanza and Valle Nuevo. Alt. 2000 m. (6562 ft.)

Description:

Shrubs to 1 m. tall; petals white, stamens white, fruits red (immature); leaves shiny and deep green. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.

Habitat:

Moist forest of Pinus occidentalis and many associated shrubs (Buddleja, Myrica, Garrya, Baccharis, Brunellia, Lobelia, Cestrum, Ilex, Rubus, etc.). Common.
