Dominican Republic. La Vega. Cordillera Central. Just S of Paso Bajito, ca. 10.7 km N of El Rio on road from El Rio to Jarabacoa.

Description:

Shrub to ca. 3 m tall, accumulating anthocyanins (red-purple) in youngest shoots and on leaf veins and margins. Hypanthium green tinged with purple. Phenology of specimen: Flower.

Habitat:

Occasional.
