Description:

A scandent shrub; stem 1 inch thick or thicker, terete, tightly attached to its support, repeatedly branched all along; branches crookedly rebranched, rather long and slender, half drooping; leaves coriaceous, horizontally spreading, with recurved tips, otherwise flat, dark shining green above, yellowish-green beneath; flowers in clusters along the twigs; stalks reddish; calyx whitish and hard, nearly 1/2 inch high; the 6 petals arranged like the wings of a windmill, whitish beneath, pinkish above; style and filament white; anther bases light yellow; the spures (?) purplish-blue; showy and delicately pretty; flowers nearly 2 inches across, odorless. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
Habitat:

Climbing upon small tree up to 25 feet high, in humid forests.
