Description:

shrub, to 2 m. tall. Shrub, to 2 m. tall; young inflorescenes with bright red bracts; flowers with pinkish reflexed petals, anthers white; leaves bullate. Phenology of specimen: Fertile, Flower.
Habitat:

Much disturbed cloud forest, with Miconia subcompressa, Miconia tetrastoma, Meriania involucrata, Heterotrichum umbellatum, Ossaea limoides, Ossaea lima, Mecranium ovatum. Very common.
