Description:

Shrub to 10 m tall; flowers white, anthers white (actinomorphic), fruits reddish, turning blue. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
Habitat:

Transition forest between cloud forest and dry slope forest. With Miconia, Vaccinium, Baccharis, Lyonia, Clethra, Ilex, Coccoloba, Oreopanax, Dodonea, Alchornea, Myrica, Senecio. Common.
