Description:

Shrub to ca. 2 m tall. Flower buds red-purple. Stems and leaf midveins red-purple. Young leaves often red-purple. Phenology of specimen: Sterile.
Habitat:

Disturbed "rak bwa" with Mecranium, Miconia, Phyllanthus, Illicium, Rhytidophyllum, Prunus, Alchornea, Eugenia, Samyda, Heterotrichum, and Solanum. Uncommon.
