Description:

Shrub or small tree to ca. 3 m tall. Bark gray-brown, smooth or slightly longitudinally furrowed. Young fruits red-purple. Phenology of specimen: Sterile.
Habitat:

Cloud/pine forest with Pinus, Didymopanax, Brunellia, Miconia, Calyptranthes, Ternstroemia, Symplocos and Arthrostylidium. Occasional.
