Description:

Occasional shrub to 3 m; flower buds red; when open, petals white on adaxial surface, pink on abaxial surface; stamens white, in an actinomorphic ring; fruits red, turning blue; leaves with strongly impressed veins. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
Habitat:

Moist montane forest.
