Description:

Species Description - Much-branched lianas with aerial roots. Stems very woody and encircled by scars 15-20 mm apart. Leaves with petiole 10-20 cm long; blade bifid, split to near or slightly below middle, 30-40 cm long. Inflorescences with peduncle with conspicuous scars left by caducous spathes scattered along entire length. Individual fruit segments green with reddish apices. Seeds very numerous, arranged in cross-like pattern when viewed in transerverse section, narrowly elliptic, 2.5 x 1mm. Fr (May, Nov and probably in other months as well); common.
