Description:
Species Description - Plants 60-80 cm tall. Leaves: sheath oblong, 10-15 cm long, entire; blade thin, coriaceous, linear, 3-6 cm wide, sparsely serrate, acuminate, densely lepidote. Inflorescences 50-60 cm long, unbranched, the peduncle prominent, erect, 40-50 cm long, the spike very densely polystichously flowered, cylindric, white, 5-10 X 1.5-2 cm, the floral bracts bicarinate at base, suborbicular. Flowers sessile; sepals 0.7 cm long, evenly short connate; petals greenish yellow, soon turning black; ovary densely white-tomentose-lepidote.
Distribution and Ecology - Fl (Nov); epiphyte or on rocks along streams, rare.
