Description:
Description - Leaves to 1.5 m long; sheaths subovate, 7 cm long, covered at base with linear pale brown scales, densely recurved-serrate; blades linear, attenuate, slightly narrowed toward base but not petiolate, to 3 cm wide, sparsely and obscurely pale-lepidote, laxly serrate with antrorse and retrorse spines 4 mm long. Inflorescence corymbose, nidular in the center of the rosette, rather few-flowered, 6 cm in diameter, densely brown-lepidote including the petals; primary bracts subfoliaceous. Floral bracts oblong, 4 cm long, exceeding the ovary, serrate at apex. Sepals to 2 cm long, highly and irregularly connate into a cylindric tube, convex, irregularly lobed and serrate at apex; petals linear, obtuse, 4 cm long, much exceeding the stamens, white; filament-tube 20 mm long; ovary subcylindric, to 25 mm long.
