Description:
Species Description - Tree, to 20 m; branchlets terete, glabrous. Leaves shiny, yellowish-green, chartaceous to rigid-chartaceous, lanceolate or elliptic, 10-23 x 2.5-6(-8) cm, base acute, apex acute or obtusely acuminate, acumen to 0.5 cm long, margins slightly thickened, glabrous, veins flat above, glabrous except for some hairs on and along the prominent midrib beneath, 4-9 primary veins per side, prominulous, finely reticulate on both sides; petioles glabrous (except for few, single hairs at base), 1.2-3 cm long. Peduncles sparsely pilose, glabrescent; pedicels glabrous, to 10 mm long. Flowers sparsely pilose, white or green, often pruinose, 2.5-3 mm long, floral tube obconical to campanulate (towards end of anthesis), pilose within; tepals ca. as long as tube, pilose at base within; stamens of series I, II, III fertile, staminodes of series IV triangular, ± as long as stamens, their top often recurved, stalk and midline pilose on back; outer 6 stamens with latrorse cells, connective strongly protruding, as long as anthers, obtuse, filaments much narrower than anthers, slightly shorter than anthers plus connective, pilose; stamens of series III latrorse, with large, sub-sessile glands; ovary globose, abruptly narrowed into obconical style, style as long or slightly longer; stigma conspicuously bigger than cross-section of style. Fruit unknown.
