Description:
More or less shrubby, the stem to 4 cm. in diameter at base, with very broad bases on which the spines remain, the branches arching or clambering. Inflorescence with aggressive ants which seem to be tending aphids on the swollen calyx; fruit green, turning yellow. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
