Location:

French Guiana. Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni. Saül and vicinity. Les Eaux Claires, ca. 7 km N of Saül. Sentier Botanique, ca. 0.5-2.5 km from start of trail. Alt. 200 - 300 m. (656 - 984 ft.)

Description:

Tree, 30 m x 35 cm. Slash of inner bark deep reddish-brown. Slash with spicy aroma. Buds green. Spike marks on tree indicate that the tree had been climbed and probably collected before. Ca. 2.5 km from entrance. Leaves shiny adaxially, dull abaxially; veins light brownish; twigs and inflorescence axes brown; flowers greenish-yellow. Phenology of specimen: Flower.

Habitat:

Non-flooded moist forest.
