Location:

Brazil. Acre. Tarauacá Mun. Rio Tarauacá, river at low water. Seringal Universo, Colocaçao Praia do Carapaná, proposed Kaxinawá Indian reserve.

Description:

Root-climbing epiphyte, spathe green without, dull maroon within when open. Inflorescences terminal, erect. Plant 20 m in tree.

Habitat:

Recent sediments, relatively level terrain, low-lying areas flooded for several months in winter (Nov-Mar). Primary forest.
