Description:

Tree 25 m x 50 cm; trunk cylindric, slightly fluted at base, outer bark dark brown, rough due to numerous raised lenticels, thin, inner bark tan, brittle, with pungent odor, fruits blue-black. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.

Habitat:

Only a few meters above high-water mark of river. Upland forest on Quaternary sediments.
