Description:

Very large clumps of 3/4m in diameter, the culms to 2 m tall, with inflorescences borne on separate culms of two types, some tall and re-branching, others short and only at the base of the plant. Only one clump found within the shaded forest. Phenology of specimen: Flower.

Habitat:

Forest with many palms and no bamboos. Slopes rich with herbaceous cover, including many bambusoid grasses. Rare.
