Description:

Trees 4-7 m tall, irregularly branched, and without an apical central stem. Leaves subcoriaceous, discolor, ovate to broadly ovate, up to 45 cm long and 35 cm wide. Flower buds pale greeen, with rust-brown pubescence.

Habitat:

Secondary forest with patches of bamboo vegetation (Guadua weberbaueri).
