Georeferencing Method: Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012 (Georeferenced to the approximate geographic center of Mocambo Forest Reserve, Área de Pesquisa Ecológica do Guamá (APEG) on the campus of Embrapa Amazônia Oriental, once known as "Instituto Agronômico de Norte" (IAN) in Belém, Pará. Referred to "Figure 1. Location of fragments of primary forests studied in the metropolitan area of Belem, Pará state: Bosque, Trambioca, Mocambo, Amafrutas, Gunma and Combu Is." from article "The status of conservation of urban forests in eastern Amazonia" (AMARAL, DD et al. The status of conservation of urban forests in eastern Amazonia. Braz. J. Biol. [online]. 2012, vol.72, n.2 [cited 2013-10-18], pp. 257-265 . Available from:. ISSN 1519-6984. http://dx.doi.org/10.1590/S1519-69842012000200005). Using the reference map and Google Maps - Satellite View, located the approximate area of Mocambo. Used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates of the approximate geographic center of Mocambo, very nearby the geographic midpoint of Estrada Cafezal in accordance with other locality descriptions. Used Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to measure from the selected coordinates to the farthest extent of the campus of Embrapa, since unable to find bounded area of Mocambo; used this distance as linear extent. Input coordinates, linear extent (8008.58 m.), and measurement error (.01 m.) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius.)
Coordinate Uncertainty(m): 8010.16
