Guyana. Potaro-Siparuni. 2-3 km N of Kato Village store-airstrip; off Kato-Kurukabaru road. Alt. 690 - 750 m. (2264 - 2461 ft.)

Description:

Shrub. Shrub ±3 m tall; inflorescence axis pink; mature berries dark purple. Expanded hollow petioles inhabited by ants.

Habitat:

Along small forest trail. Low-medium height semi-evergreen forest.
