Description:

Terrestrial; ca. 60 cm tall; internodes short, 3.3 cm diam., dark green and glossy; petiole sheathed almost throughout or to within 6 cm of blades; sheath dark green, semiglossy, incurled ending abruptly at apex or weakly decurrent, not free-ending; free part sharply sulcate; blades subcoriaceous, semiglossy, moderately bicolorous; midrib flattened-convex and concolorous above, narrowly raised and moderately paler below; primary lateral veins weakly quilted-sunken and concolorous above, narrowly convex and concolorous below; minor veins moderately obscure; inflorescence solitary; peduncle 11 cm long, 7 mm diam.; spathe pale medium green, post-anthesis 18 cm long, 2.2-1.8 cm diam.; pistils ca. 52, pale green; sap foul-scented but not too strong.
