Description:
Terrestrial 40 cm-1.3 m tall; internodes 1-3 cm long, 0.9-1.8 cm diam., dark green and semiglossy, becoming brown, more or less scurfy lower down; petioles 6.5-9.5 cm long, sheathed 3-3.5 cm at base, dark green and matte, densely pale-speckled, markedly unequal at apex, one side acute, the other rounded and free-ending (whitish along the margin of the rounded side), free portion of petiole broadly and obtusely sulcate dark green and matte; blades thinly coriaceous, dark green and semiglossy above, slightly paler and weakly glossy below, 20-24 cm long, 5.5-7 cm wide; midrib weakly flat-raised and concolorus above, narrowly raised and slightly paler below; primary lateral veins 7-8 pair, weakly etched-sunken and concolorous above, narrowly convex and slightly darker below; minor veins weakly distinct below; inflorescences 1-2 per axil; peduncle 4.5 cm long, 5 mm diam., dark green, curved; spathe medium green, weakly glossy to semiglossy, whitish toward apex of blade at anthesis, 14 cm long, tube 1.4 cm diam.; male portion of spadix creamy white protruding forward at 45º angle; pistils 3.2; sterile naked part of spadix 4-5 mm long; male portion of spadix 4.5-4.7 cm long, 9 mm diam.
