Panama. Colón. Remnants of forest along Hwy 79, Quebrada Sardinilla. 5 km NNE of Cement factory and ca 6 km NE of Buena Vista. Tropical moist forest. Alt. 55 m. (180 ft.)

Description:

ommon; small tree 6 m tall, 25 cm DBH with "stilt roots", undoubtedly from being undercut by stream. I saw one tree of this species 30 cm DBH. Seedlings and saplins common; no flower or fruit but new leaf flushes in all stages. Bracts subtending leaf flus.
