Description:

Hemi-parasitic; Leaves green; Flower: orange-red with yellow corolla lobes, 6-lobed, 1 stigma, 6 exsert stamens adenate to corolla, red filaments, anthers basifixed: red when immature, black at maturity, no odor to flowers. n.v. matapalo, (Maya) kapĆ³.
Habitat:

Pine forest. Chaparrel. Common. Red clay soil.
Host: Pinus oocarpa Schiede ex Schltdl.
