Description:

Small tree with strong resinous odor. Flowers with faint but not sweet odor. Petals dull red. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
Habitat:

Rolling to hilly terrain on leached sandy and clay sediments. Deciduous woodland with some savanna species, "cerrado" vegetation, with Attalea phalerata [Scheelea princeps], Astronium, Anadenanthera macrocarpa, Dilodendron bipinnatum, Tabebuia aurea, T. roseo-alba, Curatella americana.
