Brazil. Acre. Porto Acre Mun. Reserva Forestal Huamaitá, ca. 27 km NNE of Rio Branco on road to Porto Acre, 28 km S of Porto Acre, 3 Km E along road to field station of Universidade Federal do Acre, situated on S bank of Rio Acre. Alt. 150 - 200 m. (492 - 656 ft.)

Description:

Terrestrial; internodes short, 1.5-3.0 cm diam., medium to dark green and glossy; petioles dark green, weakly glossy to semiglossy, smooth, the sheath finely striate, ending abruptly at apex, only weakly free-ending, free portion of petiole sharply flat-sulcate with prominent erect margins adaxially; blades subcoriaceous, dark green and semiglossy to glossy above, slightly paler and equally glossy below; midrib convex and concolorous above, narrowly raised and paler below; primary lateral veins quilted-sunken and concolorous above, convex-pleated and concolorous below; minor veins moderately close, fine and distinct.
