Description:

Trailside herb or sub-shrub 70 cm, calyx pale green, "banner" petal white tinged with yellow, lower part of corolla tinged with blue. Use: leaves boiled as an admixture to Banisteriopsis and Psychotria to make hallucinogenic "daime" drink. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
Habitat:

Primary forest on terra firme, steep hills deeply dissected by many small streams. Canopy discontinuous, many trees exceeding 30 m, understory with dense herbaceous layer, some large young stems of arborescent bamboo.
