Description:
Species Description - Plants 25-45 cm tall, forming funnelform rosette, dullgreen, reddish below. Leaves subchartaceous, 30-55 cm long, much exceeding the inflorescence; sheath elliptic, 10-13.5 cm long, dull pale brown; blade strap-shaped, with distinctly veined surface, 2-4 cm wide, attenuately acute or acuminate, sparsely and minutely lepidote or subglabrous. Inflorescences unbranched, 10-28 cm long, the peduncle mostly decurved, 5-20 cm long, the spike densely and polystichously 8-15- flowered, slenderly ellipsoid to cylindric, 6-8.5 X 2-3 cm, the floral bracts ecarinate, elliptic, 3.4-4 cm long, subglabrous abaxially, bright orange. Flowers contiguous, sessile; sepals elliptic, 1-2 cm long, not distinctly carinate but with thickened midvein at base, the two posterior ones distinctly connate; petals yellow. Fr (May); epiphyte, common in low trees.
