Description: A seedling of Adenocalymna moringifolia based on Mori et al. 25266 from the Piste de St. Elie are, French Guiana. Note that the cotyledons are pulled from the seed coat so this species has phanerocotylar seedlings and that the cotyledons emerge above the ground so this species has epigeal germination. The epicotyl (the structure above the cotyledons that produces the stem) and the hypocotyle (the structure below the cotyledons that produces the root system) are obvious in this species.
