Description: Flower of Gustavia augusta based on Mori & Boom 14701 from the vicinity of Saül, French Guiana. The bees on the flower are a species of Trigona that is not an effective pollinator. The bees seem to fill their pollen baskets in a single flower and then fly directly back to their nests.
