Description: Lateral view of a loculicidal capsule of Lagerstroemia speciosa based on an unvouchered tree cultivated in front of the Eco Resort Inn in Paramaribo, Suriname in June 2008. Note that fruit opens in the middle of the fruit valve. The septa can be seen in the middle of the fruit valves.
