Description: Flower buds at apex of Gustavia monocaulis stem based on Mori & Kallunki 5698 from El Llano-Cartí Road, Panama. In this species, after the fruits are set, the apical vegetative bud will grow again to continue the production of a monopodial stem. The flowers are suprafoliar.
