Distribution and Ecology - Distribution. In addition to the type collection, originally described from Ptari-tepui, known from Ptari-tepui and the Chimanta Massif, to the west of Ptaritepui. VENEZUELA. Edo. Bolivar: Ptari-tepui, scrub forest, 1500 m ah, 17 Dec 1952, Maguire & Wurdack 33925; Chimanta Massif, above vaUey of Rio Tirica, southwestern-facing slopes of Chimanta-tepui (Torono-tepuí), 1000-1700 m alt, 16 May 1953, Steyermark 75449; forested W-facing slopes with sandstone boulders, between Camp 2 and Camp 3, northwestern part of Apacara-tepui, 850-1100 m alt, 18 Apr 1953, Steyermark 75104. The latter collection is noteworthy in having the leaves acuminate at apex.
