Species Description - (on the trail from Sevilla de Oro. to Mendez), (coarse epiphyte, hanging lax to 6 m.; new leaves bright pink, conspicuous in the forest; corolla deep crimson, in bud pale pink, apically white); (arching shrub 4 m.; corolla crimson below, apically white).

Discussion:
These collections, the first of the species recorded from Ecuador, agree excellently with the original description and plate (Tbibaudia secundiflora Poepp. & Endl. Nov. Gen. & Sp. 1: 5. pi. 9. 1835). The type material of the species was obtained in the present Department of Huanuco, Peru.
