Description:
Description: Epiphytic, pendent shrubs; stems elongate, thin, hispid-puberulent near apex with eglandular hairs to 1 mm long, glabrate; nodes thickened. Leaves congested, oblong-lanceolate, (2-)2.5-3 x 0.8-1.2 cm, base obtuse or narrowly rounded, apex gradually acuminate, the tip blunt and callose-thickened, margin thickened and revolute, sometimes extremely revolute at very base, lamina pilulose all over with eglandular hairs to 1 mm long, glabrate; 3-plinerved from base, midrib and lateral nerves strongly raised above when dry, lateral nerves and tertiary veinlets impressed and obscure; petiole subterete, ca. 1.5 mm long, indumentum equal to that of stems. Inflorescences axillary, flowers solitary or paired, shorter than the subtending leaves; floral bracts few, ovate-deltoid, acute, 1-2 mm long, sparsely hispid; pedicel 4-7 mm long, glabrate; bracteoles 2, basal, opposite, ovate, acuminate, ca. 1 mm long, glabrous, clasping pedicel. Flowers 4-5-merous, diplostemonous; calyx ca. 6 mm long, copiously tomentose without, the hairs eglandular and 0.6-0.8 mm long; tube ellipsoid, 2-3 mm long; limb suberect, 2-2.5 mm long, glabrous within; lobes lanceolate, subacute; sinuses acute; corolla urceolate, 7-8 mm long and ca. 4 mm diam. medially, the base and apex strongly contracted, color unknown, sparsely pilose with castaneous glandular hairs 0.1-0.3 mm long, the lobes spreading, oblong, subacute, ca. 1 mm long; stamens 8 or 10, equal in length, ca. 7-8 mm long; filaments ca. 3 mm long, glabrous; anthers ca. 3.5 mm long; thecae 1.5-2 mm long, the base straight, without basal appendage; tubules dehiscing by clefts 1 mm long or longer; style ca. 7-8 mm long. Berry unknown.
Type: Peru. Cusco: Prov. Convención, Yanatín Palmacocha, Alturas de Chaco, 2700 m, 15 August 1928 (fl), Bues 2165 (holotype US!).
