Description:

Description: Epiphytic shrub, somewhat scandent; mature stem terete, weakly striate, glabrous, nitid, reddish-black when dry; twigs terete, glabrous, brown when dry. Leaves subcoriaceous, sessile, strongly amplexicaul, broadly ovate to subrotund, 7-8.5 x 4.6-6.5 cm, the base rounded, strongly and deeply cordate, the lobes overlapping, the apex sharply acuminate, the margin itself thin and scarious, minutely toothed in the distal half, basically glabrous but both surfaces bearing minute, deciduous, glandular fimbriae, ca. 0.3 mm long; plinerved with 11-13 nerves arising from near the base and anastomosing near the margin, midrib and lateral nerves plane to slightly raised on both surfaces, reticulate veinlets obscure, + plane. Inflorescence axillary, solitary, racemose, 3-4-flowered; rachis subterete, weakly striate, glabrous, 0.9-1.7 cm long; floral bract persistent, ovate, acuminate, 1-1.8 mm long, marginally glandular-fimbriate; pedicel subterete, striate (more pronounced and actually ribbed distally), 16-20 mm long, glabrous but bearing scattered, glandular fimbriae ca. 0.3 mm long, especially distally at articulation with calyx; bracteoles similar to floral bract, located near base, 1-1.2 mm long. Flowers pentamerous; calyx glabrous, 4.5-5 mm long; hypanthium cylindric-campanulate, strongly but bluntly angled opposite the sinuses, 2.5-3 mm long; limb campanulate, 2-2.3 mm long; lobes bluntly apiculate, 0.3-0.5 mm long; sinuses broadly rounded; corolla globose-urceolate, "orange," glabrous but bearing scattered, glandular fimbriae all over, ca. 11 mm long, the lobes bluntly triangular or deltate, ca. 1.5 mm long; stamens equal; filaments glabrous, ca. 1.4 mm long; anthers 8-9 mm long; thecae granular, incurved at base, ca. 3 mm long; tubules ca. 6 mm long, dehiscing by tiny, obliquely terminal pores; style inserted, glabrous, ca. 5 (longer?) mm long. Berry not seen.
