Description:
Type: Peru. Junín: Tarma, Huacapistana, 3100-3500 m, 18 Jan 1903 (fl), Weberbauer s.n. (holotype, B, destroyed). The protologue indicates that the species belongs to G. erecta. Weberbauer 2086 at G (frag. ex G at L) and a photo of this collection at MOL (L, NY), annotated by Sleumer as an isotype of G. apiculata, is actually G. glomerata. The label also differs from that of the type of G. apiculata (3000-3100 m not 3100-3500 m); therefore, it is not an isotype.
