Description:

Description: Shrub; stems subterete, glabrous, brownish. Leaves oblong to lanceolate-oblong, sometimes falcate, 12-35 x 3.5-7 cm, basally cuneate, apically acuminate, marginally subentire or shallowly crenate or subserrate towards apex, glabrous; 5-7-plinerved (or somewhat pinnate-nerved), the lateral nerves oriented above the base, ascending, with the midnerve slightly impressed above and raised beneath, the reticulate veinlets plane or slightly raised on both surfaces; petiole rugose, glabrous, narrowly winged above, 5-15 mm long. Inflorescence axillary, racemose, essentially glabrous, 10-20-flowered; rachis subterete, stout, 3-9 cm long; pedicels striate, 18-40 mm long; floral bract oblong, coriaceous, ca. 4 mm long; bracteoles basal, minute. Flowers with calyx 7-9 mm long; hypanthium short-cylindric or campanulate, ca. 4 mm long, 5 mm diam.; limb coriaceous, 3-5 mm long; lobes ovate, apiculate, ca. 1 mm long; corolla subcylindric, often slightly falcate, 18-28 mm long, 6 mm in diam., the lobes oblong, subacute, ca. 1.5 mm long; stamens 12-16 mm long; filaments distinct, 4-6 mm long, distally pilose at margins with hairs up to 0.6 mm long; connectives alternately 2-spurred, the spurs subacute; anthers ca. 10 mm long; thecae 8-9 mm long; tubules subcylindric, 3-5 mm long; style exserted; stigma truncate. Berry subspherical, up to 12 mm diam.
