Description:

terrestrial shrub along steep roadcuts. mature leaves nitiv above, oriented along stem but pointing back; floral bracts dull reddish-green, strongly spreading. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
Habitat:

heavily disturbed; premontane forest. locally abundant.

Collection Notes: floral bracts concave; rachis & pedicels dull green suffused w/red; calyx green to dull red; corolla dark orange (darker at base, light at lobes); hummigbird visited; no wintergreen odor; bluish berry
