Costa Rica. San José. Braulio Carrillo National Park, 0-4 km N of the tunnel, along San José-Guapiles road. Alt. 1220 - 1550 m. (4003 - 5085 ft.)

Description:

Terrestrial shrub ca. 1.5 m tall. Floral bracts pale violet-pink. Calyx green. Corolla dull white with tint of violet. Immature berry purplish. Growing close to both parents, although only a little C. bracteata in bloom now. [Pickled; DNA].
Habitat:

Steep roadside slopes through premontane cloud forest.
