Description:

Terrestrial shrub 1.5-2.5 m tall. Inflorescence nodding. Lowest inflorescence bracts pale green; upper floral bracts rose-red; or floral and inflorescence bracts all rose-red. Corolla red; lobes dark purple within. Calyx pale green. Leaf nerves red. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
Habitat:

Roadside slopes. Forest edge. Locally common.
