Description:

A shrub 2½ to 4 feet high, well-fruited, fruit red, sweet, and of excellent flavor, becomes dark bluish-red on cooking. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.

Dry slopes and ridges. Common.

Collection Notes: Fide Dean Taylor, 2020: Possible isotype. The collection number, date, and some details match the protologue. The name of the mountain does not match. This might be a transcription error when creating the label on this sheet (see US 00116897).
