Description:

terrestrial shrub with branches to 3 m long. pedicels, calyx and lower 4/5 corolla reddish-orange; upper 1/5 co- rolla green; hairs within lobes white. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
Habitat:

steep, wet roadside slopes. scattered.
Other:

Collection Notes: fruit immature green; calyx and corolla angled; orig. det. by JLL 94 as M. aff. ericae (short rachis form); change entry in Fl. Ecu. databse!
