Costa Rica. San José. Cantón Pérez Zeledán, Parque Nacional Chirripó, Valle de Los Conejos, trail to Cerro Chirripó. Alt. 3500 - 3600 m. (11483 - 11811 ft.)

Description:

Subshrub 1 dm tall. Leaves mucronate. Corolla cream-white. Berry red when mature. Abundant. Growing alongside Pernettya prostrata frequently. [Photos; pickled]. Plants pretreated with EtOH.

Habitat:

Páramo. Dominated by Chusquea subtesselata, Vaccinium, Pernettya, Senecio andicola, and Diplostephium costaricensis. Abundant.
