Description:

Shrub .2-1 tall. Floral bracts, rachis, pedicel, calyx and corolla dark red at anthesis. Mature calyx blue-black.

Habitat:

Disturbed subparamo vegitation. Growing with G. buxifolium and G. alnifolia. Common.
