Description:

Tree 9 m, 7 cm DBH; bark brown, furrowed; long, stiff horizontal branches; inflor- escence deep pink; corollas red base, white apices, odorless. Some flowers visited by nectar robbers and raquet- tailed humming birds. Phenology of specimen: Flower.

Habitat:

Primary high montane forest dominated by Dictyocaryum.
