Description:

Deciduous shrub, 1-6 m. Stem terete, sparsely puberulent. Leaves almost sessile; blade elliptic-lanceolate, serrulate. Racemes axillary, 3-8-flowered. Flowers 5-merous. Calyx lobes free to connate. Corolla pink. Fruit purple-black, glaucous. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.

Habitat:

Edge of a Colchic forest. Fagetum. Plant cover 95%. Buxus colchica, Hedera colchica, Rhododendron ponticum, Phyllitis scolopendrium, Duchesnea indica.
