Description:

Terrestrial shrub, 1.5 m tall. Leaves slightly bullate, without red color at base of leaf above (as in C. axillaris). Plant with slight odor of wintergreen (as in C. quereme). Floral bracts dark rose-red, adpressed to calyx at anthesis and after, not spreading. Corolla reddish to orange with white tips. [DNA].

Second growth along old road.
